Measures 8-5-3”. Base is 8-5-3/4”. The subdued art of the Far East comes alive in this bisque figurine of a young boy with a bird in hand. It brings alive the innocence of youth interacting with the beauty of nature. To the best of my limited abilities attempts were made to translate the inscriptions on the top and bottom of the the white on the top gave numerous results but methinks that it is the name of the artist. The bottom says “Made by the Nishito Doll Studio” and “Your majesty’s purchase “. The doll is attached to the board and is removable. There is slight discoloration on the top of the bird’s head and a possible smudge on the boy’s right cheek. Otherwise in excellent condition.
