This vase was hand thrown on the pottery wheel by Marcus using a stoneware woodfire clay. The beautiful colors created by the wood fire kiln process make this absolutely beautiful and one of a kind. Marcus used a special Japanese glaze that creates the most beautiful gold colored crystals when exposed in the wood fire kiln to the elements of heat and air flow. In each kiln of over 200 pieces, we only get 1-2 that turn out this way! They are truly unique and RARE.

WOODFIRE PROCESS:
Once glazed, the pots are taken outside to the woodfire kiln area and are carefully placed inside the kiln depending on where you want the ash, fire, and smoke effects to hit them. Wood firing is a VERY labor intensive task.
